Endodontics
Endodontics or root canal treatment is a dental specialty that treats the dental pulp (cavity containing the nerve), blood vessels and connective tissue. It is performed to eliminate pain, inflammation and infection caused by deep cavities, fracturesfractures, or trauma.
First, a clinical and radiographic and/or tomographic diagnosis is needed to evaluate the complexity and anatomy of the root canals. The procedure involves removal of the nerve, cleaning, disinfectiondisinfection, and preparation of the canals, followed by sealing.
